A neighborhood landmark, Perry’s does classic breakfast, lunches and dinners daily and has backyard atrium seating. Grilled artichokes with lemon aioli and French onion soup (complete with crispy cheese on top!) start things off right before you dive into standards like pepper braised lamb shank and old-fashioned pot roast.
Palm House (2032 Union St.)
A tropical island breeze in the midst of foggy San Francisco, this local favorite is housed in a historic farm building and sits under one of the oldest palm trees in the city. The Caribbean meets the South Pacific in dishes like the free range summer jerk chicken and the Hawaiian picnic salad with tuna poke. Cocktails are creative here and the giant punch bowls, mixed with rum and fruit, serve four to six.
Rose’s Cafe (2298 Union St.)
Dishes like the breakfast smoked salmon pizza with crème fraiche and scrambled eggs have made Rose’s the kind of place that draws diners from across the city. Classic French cuisine in a lively atmosphere makes Gamine a Union Street destination for those looking for colorful Old World flavors. Get house escargot or baked cambozola for starters. A pot of steamed mussels with leeks can be shared before dinner or over mimosas at brunch. Lamb Stew Provencale, served on boiled potatoes and poached carrots, gets rave reviews.

The Dorian (2001 Chestnut St.)
The Dorian is an ode to San Francisco at the turn of the 20th Century, a modern day parlor for the bohemians, libertines and free-thinkers among us. It's the kind of place to savor classic American fare, fine whiskey, and craft martinis. Head to The Dorian between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for a happy hour that includes $1 oysters and truffle fries. The Dorian is the place to enjoy good times for good time's sake.
Causwells (2346 Chestnut St.)
This American bistro has one of the city’s most lusted-after double cheeseburgers (it's on the top of every San Francisco burger list). The menu offers much more, from seasonal salads and baby back ribs to deviled eggs to grilled chicken. It’s also a bit of a neighborhood wine bar, with quality beers, too.
Tipsy Pig (2231 Chestnut St.)
The Tipsy Pig is where the Marina District goes to brunch. Their patio is perfect for chilaquiles, a spicy bloody mary or a mimosa. If you need more, they have 40 beers on tap. It's a very popular spot, so get there early to avoid the line.
Tacolicious (2250 Chestnut St.)
Tacolicious is a San Francisco chain that has locations in the Mission District and all over the peninsula. The Marina location is the restaurant that started the taco, small plates and tequila drinks craze that they are known for. Crowd favorites include the Baja-style Pacific cod fish taco and the carnitas taco.
