Where to Eat in San Francisco on Thanksgiving Day
San Francisco restaurants have begun to plan their epic Thanksgiving feasts. Whether you're visiting from out of town or would just rather dine out for Thanksgiving, here are our suggestions for how to make the holiday easy and delicious;. Leave the set-up, cooking, and clean-up to the talented teams at these great restaurants that are serving some scrumptious Thanksgiving meals.
ANZU (Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason St.)
ANZU's Thanksgiving Dinner Feast includes a variety of soups and salads for starters, assorted sushi and shellfish, and tasty entrees like Buttermilk Brined Willie Bird Turkey Breast. Visit their carving station for Honey Glazed Ham and Salt Crusted Prime Rib, and finish it off with Tahitian Vanilla Frozen Yogurt and assorted cakes.
Gott's Roadside (Various Locations)
Known for their modern approach to American classics, Gott's Roadside has a special Pumpkin Shake on the menu that will be available starting October 26th. The Pumpkin shake features organic vanilla ice cream, hand-spun with organic milk and spiced organic pumpkin.
Michael Mina (252 California St.)
Take your taste buds on a culinary adventure this Thanksgiving at Michael Mina. Their special holiday menu features fall’s finest ingredients in an unforgettable four-course experience. Menu highlights include a choice of Ahi Tuna Tartare, a decadent White Truffle Tagliatelle, a festive Pumpkin Soup, Maine Lobster, a classic Roasted Turkey with haricot verts and tarragon gravy, and a Schmitz Ranch Rib Eye. Traditional sides of Sage Stuffing, Yukon Gold Pomme Purée and Sweet Potatoes are served family-style alongside the entrée course. The feast ends on a sweet note, with a choice of desserts, including an elevated take on Pumpkin Pie, made with maple and medjool date, and a Pecan Pie with rich caramel and mascarpone.
One Market Restaurant (1 Market St.)
Leave it to One Market Restaurant to satisfy your tastebuds this Thanksgiving with a special four-course prix fixe menu, including Chestnut Soup, Pumpkin Risotto, Roasted Willie Bird Turkey, Spit-Roasted Berkshire Pork Loin, and delicious desserts. Available from 1 to 8 p.m. for $89 per person ($45 for children 10 and under).
The Waterfront Restaurant (7 The Embarcadero)
Perfect for dinner with a view, Waterfront's three course prix fixe menu includes butternut squash soup or baby kale salad for the first course; oven roasted heritage turkey with cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes and giblet gravy for the second course; and pumpkin torte with cinnamon Chantilly cream for dessert. The Waterfront Restaurant serves up their feast from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Wayfare Tavern (558 Sacramento St.)
For the first time in their nine years of serving Thanksgiving meals, Wayfare Tavern is offering a full Thanksgiving dinner available for pick-up. Simply fill out a Thanksgiving Day Order Form and pick up on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thanksgiving Day. From the artichoke dip to the burrata whipped potatoes, Wayfare Tavern has you covered. Compliment your meal with Black Jet Bakery's delicious pies. Each meal will come complete with instructions for each dish and even a recipe for the best way to eat your leftovers. Wayfare Tavern is taking orders until Nov. 15.
Excellent bay views plus one hour of validated parking in an easily accessible garage all add to the allure of the dining experience at PIER 39 and Fisherman's Wharf.
Bistro Boudin (160 Jefferson St.)
Bistro Boudin will be open on Thanksgiving Day, offering their full menu plus a great Thanksgiving menu. Choose from Old Fashioned Roasted Tom Turkey with jalapeno-cranberry chutney, or Prime Rib with Demi-Glace. Traditional sides include Sourdough Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes with Sage, Pan Roasted Carrots and Squash, and Traditional Turkey Giblet Gravy. Finish it off with a warm Caramel Crumble Apple Pie with vanilla bean gelato and nutmeg.
Cioppino's (400 Jefferson St.)
Indulge in a Fisherman's Wharf tradition this holiday with favorites like their signature Cioppino, Dungeness crab and award-winning clam chowder. Ciopinno's is open 365 days a year.
Crab House (PIER 39)
While Crab House will not have a dedicated Thanksgiving menu, they will be open at 11:30 a.m., serving their seafood favorites like their world famous Dungeness killer crab, roasted in secret garlic sauce, and iron skillet-roasted seafood.
Eagle Cafe (PIER 39)
Eagle Cafe will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highlights include a traditional holiday dinner special (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin bread pudding), plus the full regular menu.
Fog Harbor Fish House (PIER 39)
Traditional Thanksgiving turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin bread pudding will all be on the menu for Fog Harbor Fish House's Thanksgiving dinner special. They will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. serving these traditional holiday treats, as well as their full regular menu.
Franciscan Crab Restaurant (Pier 43 1/2, Fisherman's Wharf)
Franciscan Crab Restaurant will offer their full menu and a four-course Turkey Dinner served all day. Enjoy clam chowder and house salads; a 400-clove garlic turkey with gravy; house made stuffing with crispy potatoes, onions, yams, corn and olives; cranberry chutney; and pumpkin pie a la mode. Open Thanksgiving Day at 11:30 a.m.
Pier Market Seafood Restaurant (PIER 39)
Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Pier Market Seafood Restaurant will be serving a traditional holiday dinner special (turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin bread pudding), plus the full regular menu.
Balboa Cafe (3199 Fillmore St.)
For Thanksgiving appetizers, Balboa Cafe will be offering Baby Kale & Cranberry Salad with baby beets, chevre goat cheese, and brown butter vinaigrette; Blue Crab Cakes with red pepper aioli and cress salad; and Grilled Artichoke topped with prosciutto crumb and lemon aioli. Entrees include Balboa Turkey Dinner with sourdough stuffing and pomme puree. Top it all off with Pumpkin Pie and five spice whipped cream.
Le Colonial (20 Cosmo Pl.)
Le Colonial will be serving limited a la carte menu items and Chef’s Specials from 4 to 8:30 p.m., which includes Honey Butter Roasted Organic Mary’s Farm Turkey Breast Stuffed with Sticky Rice and Asian Sausage, Green Beans and Carrots Fritters, Clay Pot Lobster, Five Spiced Pumpkin Doughnuts filled with Pumpkin Cream, and much more. 721Lounge at Le Colonial will be open at 3:45 p.m. with a special happy hour menu.
Osso Steakhouse (1177 California St.)
Feeling fancy? Well, what better way to enjoy an elevated Thanksgiving feast than at Osso Steakhouse? Open Thanksgiving Day at 5 p.m. and offering all of their regular menu favorites, get your steak fix and wine pairings for this holiday.
Fior d'Italia (San Remo Hotel, 2237 Mason St.)
Open noon to 9 p.m., Fior d'Italia's dinner menu is served all day, in addition to a Traditional Turkey Dinner. Enjoy a Shrimp Cocktail, Ravioli di Zucca (pumkpin ravioli), Roast Turkey and Dressing, and pumpkin pie.
The Stinking Rose (325 Columbus Ave.)
The Stinking Rose opens at noon on Thanksgiving Day, serving their regular menu, plus a four course Turkey Dinner ($39.99 and child’s portion $19.99). Their Turkey Dinner consists of Bagna Calda (garlic cloves, oven roasted in extra virgin olive oil and butter, with a hint of anchovies); The Stinking Rose House Salad; 400-Clove Garlic Turkey with pan gravy; stuffing, mashed yams, cranberry relish, and pumpkin pie.
Presidio Social Club (563 Ruger St.)
This Thanksgiving, Presidio Social Club offers patrons a respite from the kitchen with its three-course Thanksgiving Day prix fixe menu. Available from noon to 7 p.m., friends and family are invited to enjoy a traditional holiday meal with an elevated twist, including your choice of a Harvest Salad or Butternut Squash Soup, Roast Turkey with Mushroom and Sage Stuffing, house-made braided Poppy Seed Challah Bread and decadent holiday pies like Bourbon Chocolate Pecan.
The New Spot on Polk (2401 Polk St.)
Open for Thanksgiving brunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., The New Spot on Polk offers their normal menu. Enjoy classic comfort food dishes like their Chicken Fried Steak topped with homemade gravy and eggs, or Charbroiled pork chops.
Bluestem Brasserie (1 Yerba Buena Ln.)
Bluestem Brasserie will be hosting a Thanksgiving dining experience open to the public from 2 to 7 p.m. For $75 per person, a full family style meal will be served with all of your favorite accompaniments, both savory and sweet.
MKT Restaurant (Four Seasons Hotel, 757 Market St.)
Enjoy a three-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Cyrille Pannier, including a choice of appetizer and entrée and a dessert buffet with all the traditional Thanksgiving favorites. Enjoy apple and cinnamon butternut squash soup or a Dungeness crab and shrimp martini to start, followed by Diestel Ranch free-range turkey with Yukon gold potato purée, roasted root vegetables, and green bean casserole; or, grilled fillet of Flannery beef, seared herb marinated fillet of branzino, or whole baked acorn squash for your second course. Save room for the sweetest indulgences: pumpkin buttermilk pie, cranberry and vanilla cheesecake, pumpkin spiced roulade, apple walnut galette, and pecan chocolate chip cookies. MKT Restaurant will be open noon to 8 p.m.
Roy's Restaurant (575 Mission St.)
Roy’s will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., serving all of the necessary Thanksgiving goods, from Pan Roasted Teriyaki Glazed Turkeys for the main entree to delicious sides like Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Portuguese Sausage Stuffing, and Maple Brown Sugar Pumpkin Tart for dessert. Limited items will also be available for those who wish to order from the regular menu.
Beyond San Francisco
Boon Fly Café (Carneros Resort and Spa, 4048 Sonoma Hwy)
Boon Fly Café invites guests to enjoy a three-course Thanksgiving dinner and a limited a la carte menu. Designed by Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli, the three-course dinner ($65/per adult, $32/per child) includes a choice of a seasonally inspired soup or salad, a plated entrée of Thanksgiving classics, and a decadent pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving dinner at Boon Fly Café will be available from 3 to 9 p.m., and brunch is also available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
FARM at Carneros (Carneros Resort and Spa, 4048 Sonoma Hwy)
Guests can enjoy a three-course family style dinner ($98/per adult, $42/per child) that will feature a presentation of classic Thanksgiving dishes and desserts with unique season twists. FARM will be open for Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 6 p.m.
Salito's Crab House & Prime Rib (1200 Bridgeway, Sausalito)
Salito's Crab House & Prime Rib's regular menu and four-course Turkey Dinner ($39.99 and child’s portion $19.99) will be served from 11:30 a.m. to close. Menu items include a cup of Crab Chowder and Caesar salad; 400-clove garlic turkey with gravy, stuffing, cranberry relish, served with potatolitos and veggies; and pumpkin pie.
Wente Vineyards (Livermore, 5565 Tesla Rd.)
Wente will be providing their annual Thanksgiving services this holiday season. Perfect for the wildly busy, anxious, or inexperienced home chef, this skillfully prepared Thanksgiving dinner serves six and comes with all of the holiday classics.
