Find animation, innovation, and inspiration and immerse yourself in the remarkable life story of Walt Disney, the man who raised animation to an art, tirelessly pursued innovation, and created a distinctly American legacy, transforming the entertainment world! Located in the Presidio of San Francisco, The Walt Disney Family Museum is one of the Bay Area's most inspirational venues, welcoming visitors to an historic building that reveals 40,000 square feet of imagination. Contemporary interactive galleries and state-of-the-art exhibits are narrated in Walt's own voice, and feature early drawings, cartoons, movies, music, listening stations, more than 200 video screens, and a spectacular model of Disneyland. While there, you can also enjoy daily screenings of Disney classics.

  • Awaking Beauty: The Art of Eyvind Earle
    The museum's eighteenth original exhibition showcases the life and work of the lead stylist for Walt Disney's classic feature Sleeping Beauty. This retrospective runs May 18, 2017 vto Jan. 8, 2018 and features more than 250 works by Eyvind Earle, including evocative large-scale concept artworks for Sleeping Beauty and intricate thumbnail concept paintings for Lady and the Tramp.
  • Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja
    On view from March 23 to Oct. 4 is an original exhibition of works from Andreas Deja, one of the most accomplished and versatile character animators working today, showcasing original works on paper and maquettes of iconic characters, including Scar, Jafar, Gaston, Hercules and Lilo.
  • The Legacy of Walt Disney
    The Walt Disney Family Museum brings to life the fascinating and inspiring story of Walt Disney, whose artistry, creativity and vision helped define 20th century American culture. Opened in 2009 in the Presidio of San Francisco, the 40,000-square-foot museum illuminates Disney's tremendous successes, disappointments and unyielding optimism as he pursued innovation and excellence while entertaining and enchanting generations worldwide.
